Superior Technology for Automated Labeling And Barcode Identification
of Tissue Cassettes
The ID/Positive Laser Cassette Marker provides permanent and indelible marking of tissue cassettes with text, linear barcodes, and two-dimensional barcodes. It is specifically suited to meet the most critical needs of laboratories to mark, identify and track cassettes as part of a barcode-based specimen identification, error-proofing and workflow management system. With the ID/Positive Laser Cassette Marker, cassettes are permanently labeled and positively identified for the life of the cassette, from grossing through archiving.

High-Resolution Text and Barcodes
Cassettes are marked using a focused low-power CO2 laser that ablates a special polymer coating on the front of the cassette. The precision laser used in this patented process produces high-resolution and high-contrast alphanumeric text, linear barcodes, and two-dimensional barcodes that scan quickly and easily. There are no ink or impact ribbons needed, and no ink nozzles that clog. The text and barcodes are extremely durable and able to withstand the harshest reagents and solvents without fading or other damage. The high-resolution barcodes remain scannable throughout the entire lab process.

Efficient Lab Workflow
The ID/Positive Laser Cassette Marker supports an efficient “one-off” processing model where tissue cassettes are uniquely identified as they are produced. Barcoded cassettes can be scanned anywhere in the lab to quickly and correctly identify the cassette and any corresponding case information. Scanning barcoded cassettes also ensures efficient and error-free slide production and identification with StainerShield slide labels at the cutting stations.
CL-12 - 12 Magazine Carousel Auto-Feed Model
Designed for the Needs of Today’s High-Volume Labs
Designed for high-volume labs, the CL-12 model features 12 cassette magazines that can hold up to 70 cassettes each. Different cassette colors can be loaded into each of the magazines, or multiple magazines can contain a single color. The CL-12 features fast, efficient marking of high-resolution linear and 2-D barcodes on the cassettes, which are then directed to one of four output bins or stacking trays that organize the cassettes based on printing sequence.

The CL-12 can be placed on a desk or workstation in the accessioning or grossing area.

CL-01 - Single Magazine Auto-Feed Model
Compact Design, Exceptional Performance
The CL-01 Laser Cassette Marker is designed for labs that use a lower volume of cassettes, or that only utilize a single cassette color or type. The CL-01 is also ideal for a "distributed printing" workflow model, where multiple cassette markers can be placed throughout the lab, including on a desk, workstation, or on a grossing bench under the hood.

The CL-01 features a removable magazine that holds up to 70 cassettes, which can be easily switched with other magazines containing different cassette types or colors.

ID/Positive Tissue and Biopsy Cassettes
Designed Specifically for ID/Positive Laser Cassette Marker
This family of cassettes is designed for use with ID/Positive Laser Cassette Markers. They feature integral, one-piece lids that can be locked securely, yet can be opened, closed and re-locked. The 45° anterior area is coated with a patented polymer for permanent, high-resolution marking of text and barcodes.
