How To Make ID/Positive Work In Your Lab
ID/Positive enables an efficient and error-free lab workflow by harnessing the power of barcodes to positively identify specimens as they are collected, received and processed. The printed barcodes contain unique patient, case and specimen data from the laboratory information system (LIS).

There are a number of options for integrating ID/Positive specimen identification solutions into your LIS:
  • A growing number of laboratory information systems have barcode tracking modules available, or already built into their system. They integrate ID/Positive cassette markers and label printers, and utilize bar codes to identify and track specimens throughout the lab process. These include:
  • A number of “middleware” solutions are available that are compatible with ID/Positive and can pass data to and from your LIS to control barcode printing, scanning and specimen tracking. These include:
  • Existing lab systems can also be customized or modified to enable data access, reporting, barcode printing, and scanning with ID/Positive.
General Data can work with you to determine which option is best for your laboratory’s needs, objectives and budget today and into the future.
