General Data to Showcase Lab Solutions and “Live Blog” at APIII Conference


CINCINNATI – Oct. 9, 2008 – After successfully exhibiting at and featuring the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) Symposium/Convention on its healthcare blog last month, General Data Company, Inc. (www.general-data.com) will exhibit and live blog at the upcoming Advancing Practice, Instruction & Innovation through Informatics (APIII) Conference from Oct. 19 - 23, in Pittsburgh, Pa.

APIII is an annual conference designed for physicians, researchers, residents and graduate students interested in how informatics and imaging is transforming pathology and oncology. General Data will be showcasing its bar code identification solutions for the lab, and will also share the entire conference experience with the world through its blog.

Ralph Moher, General Data’s Vice President of Marketing, will be live blogging from the conference. As he did at NSH, Moher will use General Data’s healthcare blog “to be the eyes and ears” for the community of participants and those who could not attend the event. He will post photos and videos, write daily entries about the sessions and interview organizers and fellow exhibitors. In addition, the blog will showcase General Data’s and other exhibitors’ booths at the conference.

The blog (www.general-data.com/blogs/viewblog.aspx), which debuted this summer as part of General Data’s new healthcare website, is dedicated to discussing patient safety, healthcare IT, barcoding and RFID, and other trends and developments that impact the healthcare community. During the NSH Conference, it featured video interviews of participants and was highlighted on the NSH’s website homepage.
