PaintMask™ labels are a unique thermal transfer labeling solution that are designed for applications where parts, components or other items are barcode-identified prior to painting or finishing, and that barcode label needs to survive the painting or finishing process so the barcode will scan or other printed information will be readable after the process is complete.

PaintMask Labels Protect Barcodes From Painting, Powder Coating, Staining and Finishing Processes

PaintMask labels are constructed using a unique multi-layer combination of specialized adhesives, substrates, liner and a unique release layer that has been formulated specifically for this application.

They can be printed with text, variable information and bar codes using a standard thermal transfer label printer and a midrange or resin ribbon. The information is “reverse-printed” – meaning the printing is done on the back of the label, on the print-receptive liner. This assures the protection of the printed text and barcodes from abrasion and handling, in addition to paint, stain or coatings.

Once the label has been printed and applied to the surface, it can be painted, stained, coated or finished. Once that process is complete, you simply remove the protective overlaminate on the PaintMask label to reveal the printed text and barcodes, intact and fully protected from the painting, coating or finishing process.
