ID/Positive Compact Area-Imaging Barcode Scanner

ID/Positive Compact Area-Imaging Barcode ScannerGeneral Data’s ID/Positive™ compact area-imaging barcode scanner offers aggressive scanning of all linear and two-dimensional bar codes in a lightweight, low-profile form factor.

The ID/Positive barcode scanner delivers an array of advanced features that enhance workflow productivity in histology labs. It is designed with superior decode algorithms for highly accurate first-time read rates on both linear and two-dimensional barcodes. Aggressive reading of barcodes printed on low-contrast color cassette surfaces eliminates the need to purchase additional specialty hardware.

An intelligent multi-interface design distinguishes the ID/Positive™ barcode scanner from other scanners. It has three dedicated memory banks - each one capable of storing full configurations for RS232, keyboard wedge and USB interfaces. Automatic cable detection and configuration simplifies scanner management by eliminating the need for manual configuration after the change of an interface cable.

Fixed or Removable Mount Options for Barcode Scanning in the Lab

The scanner features a sleek, small-footprint stand with an integrated tray that fits perfectly in crowded histology laboratory workstations. The stand is available in a fixed mount or removable configuration to optimize workflow and barcode scanning efficiencies in different areas of the histology lab:

  • FIXED MOUNT – Ideal for scanning barcodes on cassettes and slides at a histology workstation.
  • REMOVEABLE MOUNT – For scanning barcodes on containers and cassettes at grossing and slides at checkout. The stand features a mount where the scanner can be placed and removed to scan items by hand. When placed in the mount, hands-free presentation scanning is enabled.
