Revolutionizing RFID Label Production: General Data Expands Advanced RFID Manufacturing with New RFID Press

Posted On

At General Data, innovation is driven by our commitment to helping customers deploy smarter, more reliable identification solutions. We are excited to announce the installation of our new RFID inlay insertion press—an investment that significantly expands our RFID converting, encoding, and verification capabilities for demanding industrial applications.

This powerful addition to our production lineup equips us with advanced capabilities to produce high-quality RFID labels and tags, ensuring precision, speed, and reliability. Let's dive into what this means for our capabilities and, more importantly, for you—our valued customer.

Our new RFID press is a versatile platform designed specifically for RFID inlay insertion into pre-printed webs. Our configuration includes key features tailored to high-volume industrial applications:

  • Multi-lane high-volume production for faster turnaround times
  • Hot melt and patch applicator integration for wet and dry RFID inlays
  • Dual die cutting stations for layered constructions and custom shapes
  • Reader marker system for precise quality control
  • Advanced inline chip verification for higher read reliability in the field

With servo-driven precision, the press handles inlays ranging from 3/8" to 13" wide and 3/8" to 9" long, maintaining tight registration to align inlays perfectly with printed designs. This setup offers us the flexibility to insert inlays as a dedicated process, ideal for custom runs or when integrating with existing workflows.

Expanding What We Can Produce

This new RFID press significantly enhances our ability to manufacture a wider array of RFID-enabled products tailored for industrial environments. Here's a glimpse of what's now possible:

  • Industrial RFID labels for WIP, inventory, and logistics tracking
  • Durable RFID tags for manufacturing and asset management
  • RFID-integrated barcode labels for hybrid scanning environments
  • Multi-layer and reinforced RFID constructions for harsh conditions
  • Custom-shaped RFID labels and tags with precise die cutting
  • High-volume serialized RFID label programs with full verification

Whether the application involves metal-rich environments, outdoor exposure, or automated material handling systems, we can tailor RFID constructions to meet exact performance requirements.

Smart Labels and Tags

From asset tracking in warehouses to inventory management in manufacturing, we can produce RFID labels and tags with embedded UHF, HF, or other inlays for seamless data capture. We can now securely integrate RFID inlays into a wide range of materials and constructions, including:

  • Durable industrial labels
  • Asset tracking tags
  • Harsh-environment tags
  • Specialty constructions requiring reinforced inlay protection

High-Volume Multi-Lane Runs

Perfect for producing thousands of tags efficiently, such as durable hang tags for retail or industrial identification labels resistant to harsh conditions.

Customized Solutions

With dual die cutting and applicator options, we can create specialized formats like multi-layer RFID labels or patches for applications in logistics, healthcare, and supply chain management.

Verified RFID Labels and Tags

Thanks to the inline chip verification technology and reader marker system, our RFID tags and labels leave our facility with confirmed RFID functionality and any non-performing inlays are clearly marked during production. This ensures full visibility of any defective tags, reducing errors and ensuring readability and compliance.

What This Means for Our Customers

At General Data, our focus has always been on empowering your business with tools that drive efficiency and reliability. Our new RFID press translates directly into tangible benefits for you:
