Hi – I’m Tracy Steinmetz – I’m part of the account management team here at General Data.

It’s a tough market out there, especially when you are trying to sell commodity items.

And let’s face it – many sizes of what we call “stock labels” are commodity items – a good example is the standard blank white 4 x 6 thermal transfer or direct thermal label.  They are used on just about every shipping package.  And here at General Data, our manufacturing plant cranks out millions of these every year.

When it comes to selling stock labels, it always seems to be all about price.  But even though stock labels are very price-sensitive, there is a minimum standard of quality that a customer must have.  The too-good-to-be-true super cheapo labels are usually the ones that are jamming in the printer, showing very poor print quality, or falling off the boxes.  Customers don’t like that, and it makes you look bad for selling them.

So how do you strike that balance between performance and price, where you are selling good quality stock labels and can still compete on price?

At General Data, our Black Rhino brand of stock labels are available in two lines – “Preferred” and “Value”.

Our Preferred line is a comprehensive collection of hundreds of SKUs of labels in virtually all configurations – thermal transfer, direct thermal, laser, inkjet, in many different materials, sizes, configurations and adhesive types.  These are the same great quality stock labels that General Data has been producing for over 20 years – the stock labels that customers know, prefer and trust.

Our Value line is our new lower-priced line of stock labels that enables you to aggressively compete on price, and possibly make a bit more margin.  The Value Line is a smaller selection made up of high-volume, top-selling label sizes and configurations.

But wait a minute! Didn’t I just say that you should avoid the lower-priced labels as they are usually poor quality?

That’s exactly what makes our Value line so different - our Value line of stock labels gives you a much better competitive pricing advantage without compromising quality!

Your customers will be completely satisfied with the quality and performance of our Value line stock labels.  The construction and performance characteristics are very comparable to our Preferred line, so your customers will not have any problems.

But the pricing of our Value Line will enable you to successfully compete, win more stock label business, and you can pass the savings on to your customers.

One more thing – our Value line of stock labels has been our fastest growing and most requested label product line.  Customers love the performance and price – and you will, too!

Would you like to learn more about our Value line of stock labels?  Give your General Data account manager a call, and request our latest stock label price list.  Or send a request through our website, we would happy to explain how you can win more business with our Black Rhino Value Line of stock labels!

I’m Tracy Steinmetz, and thanks for watching!
