SHURMount™ LC and SHURMount LC-A: Crystal-Clear Media For Coverslipping Clarity
Toluene-based SHURMount LC (Liquid Coverglass) and xylene-based SHURMount LC-A can be utilized for a variety of coverslipping applications. Both are crystal-clear media, providing superior optical clarity and preserving most dyes with little or no fading, even after prolonged storage.
LC is compatible with most applications, minimizes the need to purchase coverslips. It spreads thinly and evenly to form a permanent, scratch-resistant layer that acts as a coverslip or can be used in conjunction with a coverslip. LC is easily removable, yet this acrylic resin allows rapid drying for hand coverslipping. Ideal for thick or uneven sections, a refractive index of 1.48 means optical clarity for the user.
LC-A is ideal for automated staining/coverslipping instrumentation. It contains anti-oxidants to prevent fading and UV absorbency to prevent yellowing. LC-A minimizes bubble formation under coverglass and is compatible with xylene and toluene staining procedures.
